Audit & Peer Review

For the homeowner evaluating a bid, monitoring an active project, or questioning completed work.

The Problem We Solve

The volume retrofit industry thrives on a lack of independent oversight. Whether that is on paper, during installation, or after the walls are closed — no one is watching on your behalf. Mercer Seismic changes that.

The Audit Process

What We Do

Whole-home site visit

We begin every engagement with a site visit to fully understand your home's unique structure and physical conditions. We evaluate the entire continuous load path — not just the foundation.

Design & peer review

Whether you are holding a prescriptive plan or a set of "custom" engineered drawings, we scrutinize the design. We verify that proper seismic load paths are established for the whole house before you sign a contract.

Physical work assessment

If the project is active or already finished, we assess the physical construction — not just the paperwork. We determine if the contractor is executing proper installations or resorting to uncalculated field deviations.

What you receive

Your deliverable

Structural audit report

A formal structural audit report detailing deficiencies, physical incompatibilities, or installation failures. This document gives you the technical leverage to demand a redesign, halt an active job, require a contractor to fix their mistakes, or walk away from a dangerous contract entirely.

Need a full redesign?

If a complete structural redesign is necessary, your audit escalates seamlessly to Independent Structural Design. All field data gathered during this engagement carries forward — you pay for the work once.
